The U & C stands for “Utzschneider & Cie”the company who operated the

Sarreguemines factory in France from 1836 to 1918.

Watteau refers to the specific design on the piece.

inspired by the 18th Century French painter Jean-Antoine Watteau known for his idyllic scenes.

This mark was used between 1871-1913.

PLEASE NOTE .. The mark inside the bowl is not a crack more of a scuff.

This bowl has aged beautifully and now has a crackle to the surface and time worn discolouration .
